This timeline and analysis of the Hits of Muscle Shoals’ FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio from 1969-1974 were completed by Jason Wilhelm on October 17, 2016 for HON 250/HIS 460 (The History of Rock ‘n’ Roll) at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia.
It was assembled according to the following steps: research on the hits of Muscle Shoals from the founding of FAME Studios until recently through the documentary Muscle Shoals a wide variety of print and digital sources, image-finding on blogs, creative commons, and official studio websites, timeline creation using a program put out by Knight Lab, and website publishing using a program created by WordPress.
All of this work was done over the course of several weeks and in no particular order. The most labor intensive parts of the process were the timeline construction, and researching the music that came out of Muscle Shoals in this particular time period.
